The Palladium (2025)

Percussion Orchestra, 16 players (11')

Program Notes

The Palladium is a three-movement work for percussion orchestra loosely inspired by the ancient Trojan relic said to have been delivered by Zeus to protect the city of Troy. Drawing from this mythic origin, the work channels divine energy, prophetic vision, and ultimate transcendence across its three continuous movements:

I. Fulmination

II. Prophecy

III. Apotheosis

The number three recurs throughout the work in form, rhythm, and gesture – an homage to both the Trinity Trojans and the symbolic unity of power, wisdom, and ascension.

The Palladium was commissioned by Manny Flores and the Trinity High School Percussion Ensemble (Euless, TX) for their showcase performance at The Midwest Clinic 2025.
